Gaultheria antipoda  Is an erect or spreading evergreen shrub, which grows up to 1–2 m tall. It has leathery, shiny leaves which are round and have bluntly serrated edges. Leaves are 5–15 mm long. In November it developes lots of small, white, bell-shaped flowers. These are followed by juicy white pinkish red berries that ripen from late summer to autumn.
