Pterostylis aff montana is a terrestrial tuberous herb. Plants grow up to 30cm high.
Leaves: Usually 4 - 6. Up to 15cm in length. Grass like.
The flower is a single. 2 - 3cm high. Green with translucent white stripes, sometimes with red in the dorsal & lateral sepals. Flower structures vary depending on the species. Labellum either twisted at the tip or straight. Dorsal & lateral sepals either short or long depending on the species. Ends of the lateral sepals are usually tubular.
