'Wiri Gem' was raised from a seed collected at the Auckland Regional botanical Gardes in 1986 by Jack Hobbs. The seed was from the Hebe 'Wiri Jewel' which was pollinated by Hebe disomifolia. 
The leaves are 2.5 -4 cm long by 7 -12mm wide. It is an attractive, compact growing bush (75x130cm.) with rose purple flowers during cooler months of the year. It will flower for about nine months. The main flowering is mid autumn to mid sping.  It is advisable to trim off the spent flowers as it will encouage repeat flowering.  
It prefers an open position. It has to be prune after flowering to maintain shape.
