Plectania is a genus of fungi in the Sarcosomataceae family. There are 3 species known in the genus in New Zealand. They are P.campylospora. P. melastoma, and P. rhytida. They can only be identified microscopically. They are found on native and introduced hardwoods. They are all blackish and can have a texture from leathery to soft to jelly-like.
