Friends of Te Henui

We have developed this photographic identification guide to the fauna and flora of New Zealand because we realised there was a developing need by internet users who don't have access to the required literature.

The Friends of the Te Henui was formed with the aim of  helping the New Plymouth Council staff with their maintance of the walkway and the surrounding area by organising working bees to remove weeds and invasive plants.
To map the special trees and collections planted along the Te Henui stream and walkway.
To preserve and record the history of the area.
To develop a website with details of Taranaki's and New Zealand's native and exotic flora, NZ fauna, NZ weeds and escapee plants.
We have a database of approximately 14,000 free images of New Zealand flora and fauna that are available for downloading by students and the public to use if a request is made by contacting us at T.E.R:R.A.I.N (Click here)
A small donation is appreciate if images are used commercially.  A few copyright photos have been used with permission and these are labelled as such.
