Environmental Monitoring Projects
The Te Henui River is a major feature in New Plymouth, and it arises near the national park, running through farmland and urban areas. Several schools and community groups are monitoring the water quality using the SHMAK (Stream Health Monitoring and Assessment Kit) developed by NIWA. The results show a clean river.
